James Ole Legvold

James Ole Legvold (Jim), 60, of Willow Park, beloved husband and father, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, September 28, 2021, in Fort Worth, Texas.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 11 A.M., on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Messiah Lutheran Church (907 Washington Dr, Weatherford, TX 76086) in Weatherford. Burial will be private at a later date.

Jim was born on March 4, 1961, in Ames, Iowa, to Ole and Bea Legvold. On December 29, 1990 he married Ellen Hiben and together had two children, Melissa and Tanner. He proudly served his country as a F-18 pilot in the US Navy from 1987 until 1993. Jim had a passion for cycling and completed the R.A.I.D. competition for biking across Iowa in one day! He enjoyed entertaining and traveling to the mountains. Most of all, Jim will be remembered as “being a friend to many” and for being devoted to his family.

Jim is survived by his wife, Ellen; his children, Melissa Legvold and Tanner Legvold; his brother, Terry and wife Vicki Legvold; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Linda and niece, Jill.
