James Leo Brewer, 52, of Weatherford, passed away Monday evening at the Weatherford hospital. He was born September 24, 1958 in Weatherford to Howard Paul and Virginia Ann Holbrook Brewer. James was a member of First Baptist Church and a long time employee of the Weatherford Post Office. He began working part time at the post office at age 19 while perusing his interest in automobiles as a salesman at a parts store. A short time later, James was hired as a full time rural route carrier with the post office and continued his love for cars on his off time. He always enjoyed going to Corpus Christi on deep sea fishing tours and spending time exploring the ocean.
James was preceded in death by his father Howard Paul Brewer, in 1992.
His survivors include: sons, Dustin Brewer of Fort Worth and Tyler Brewer of Weatherford; mother and step father, Virginia Brewer and Jack McCoy of Weatherford; sisters, LeEllen Dillard and husband, Dingo of Peaster and Paula Threatt and husband, Eugene of Authon; nieces and nephews, Lance and Kolby Henderson, Cassie Threatt, Hayden and Aubrey Dillard; and one great nephew, Waylan Dillard.
Funeral service: 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 23, 2011 in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rbie Threatt officiating. Interment will follow in the Tin Top Cemetery. Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
