James Carroll Harris

February 5, 1933 — February 19, 2014

James Carroll (Jim) Harris was born to Dewey and Flora Harris on February 5, 1933, in Duncan, Oklahoma. Jim was the eldest of five brothers and one sister. He was the Most Valuable Player on the 1951 State Championship Football team of Waurika High School, Waurika, Oklahoma. He attended Oklahoma A&M before serving in the United States Army. Following his military service, he began a 35 year career with Halliburton Services, including 16 years spent in international operations. Married to his lifelong love, Phyllis, for 51 years, their adventure of a lifetime began. They lived in Libya where their daughter Stacey was born, England, Denmark, and The Netherlands where their son Steven was born. They returned to the United States in 1980, to Houston, Texas, and relocated to Louisiana for 13 years. Jim retired in 1994, and had been a resident of Parker County for the past 20 years. He was a devoted member of the North Side Baptist Church and Glory Sunday School Class where he enjoyed volunteering his time.  Jim was a loving, godly husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.  He will forever be in our hearts.

Survivors: Those left to cherish the memories are his beautiful wife Phyllis, their daughter Stacey Miller, son-in-law Kevin and their children Logan and Dait of McKinney, Texas; their son  Steven Harris, daughter-in-law Natalie and their daughter Makenna of Corinth, Texas.
