James "Big Jim" Thornton

James "Big Jim" Thornton, 77, died Sunday, August 20, 2006 in the local hospital. Born February 28, 1929 in Santo, Texas he was a resident of Parker County for many years. Big Jim was a retired truck driver. Funeral service:  Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at 10:00 in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.Interment:  Curtis Cemetery.Visitation:  Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.Memorials may be made to the Parker County Senior Center. Mr. Thornton is survived be his Wife, Sharon Thornton of Weatherford; Daughters, Ebbie Wooten of Weatherford, Christine Williams of Weatherford, Tracy Simmons of Weatherford and Sherry Murphy of Weatherford; Son, George Thornton of Lipan; Sister, Dorothy Simmons of Cisco, and 15 Grandchildren.
