James Aylett Branch

James “Jimmy” Aylett Branch, 63, of Brock passed away Monday, April 22, 2013.  Jimmy was born March 29, 1950 in Fort Sill, Oklahoma to Mildred Marthelle and William Miles Branch.  Mr. Branch was a teacher, coach, counselor and principal for Anna ISD, McKinney ISD, Dawson ISD in Welch Texas, Anton ISD, Woodson ISD, Newcastle ISD, Groom ISD, Brock ISD, Weatherford ISD and Poolville ISD.  He was a founding member of the Noodling Club.  A member of the Texas High School Coaches Association, Six Man Coaches Association, Texas Association Basketball Coaches and Brock ISD School Board.  Jimmy impacted thousands of student lives through his many years and devotion to each school district. While at Brock ISD, he implemented the initiative block schedule that was highly acclaimed by Texas Educators Agency as well as the Academic UIL Program, and helped Brock High School achieve exemplary status multiple consecutive school years.  As Jimmy furthered his career he joined the staff at Weatherford ISD in the Ninth Grade Center and the High School where he created an anti-drug student peer group called "181, No Specifics."  Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; daughter, Kimberly Branch of Brock; sons, Rusty Branch and wife, Kari of Allen and Spencer Branch and wife, Staci of Brock; sister, Regina Miles and husband, Ron of Wilmer; brothers, Billy Branch and wife, Marsha of Sulphur Springs and L.D. Branch and wife, Marilyn of Lindale; eight grandchildren, Breeanna, Skylar, Kolby, Kyle, Cason, Stormi, Carson and Cooper and nine nieces and nephews.

    
A celebration will be held Saturday at 11 AM, April 27, 2013 in the Jerry Durant Auditorium, in Weatherford High School, 2121 Bethel Road, Weatherford, Texas 76087.  In memory of Jimmy’s life, the Branch family request that those in attendance of his celebration please wear bright colored clothing to help them honor and cherish his memory.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Friday at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.  Burial will be in Brock Cemetery following the celebration
