Houston Charles Cooper

Houston Charles Cooper, age 16, passed from this life on Saturday, May 13, 2023. He was born February 26, 2007, in Weatherford, Texas to Benjamin Edward Cooper and Ashley Nicole Murphy. Houston was a student at Weatherford High School. Among his many interests were football, skateboarding, and listening to music. Houston will be forever remembered by his family and friends. His beautiful blue eyes, his smile, and his long hair. His younger cousins will surely miss his coaching them to learn new things like playing ball or skateboarding. Houston was born to teach and coach; he had so much patience for the younger kids. Houston struggled with dyslexia and ADHD, but he never let it get in his way, if anything it made him stronger. Houston was an all-around awesome young man.

Houston was preceded in death by his nana, Janet King; uncle, Jacob Murphy; Uncle Ray; cousin, Eric Thomas, II; and Great Uncle Richard.

Houston is survived by parents, Benny Cooper, Ashley Murphy, and Evelyn Smith; siblings, Abigail, Joey, Genesis, Kadyn, J.D., and Allen; paternal grandparents, Eric and Stephanie Cooper; maternal grandmother, Michelle Logan; great grandfather, David Pointer; great grandmother, Hazel Pointer; uncles who were like brothers, William Cooper, Anthony Cooper; uncles, Ricky Cooper, James Pointer Cooper, and Shane Murphy; and numerous other loving relatives.

A time of visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas 76086. Additional services are not scheduled at this time.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Houston's memory to suicide prevention and awareness, if possible.
