Helen Kathleen Martin Robinson 79, of Peaster, departed from this life on Friday, March 10th, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on November 19, 1943, to Oliver Windle Martin & Clairis Auvenshine Martin in Veal Station, Texas, Helen was raised on the family dairy farm. She was a graduate of Springtown High School class of 1962.

After high school, Helen worked at Howards Café in Springtown, where she met her husband, David Mastin Robinson. David served in the United States Air Force. They were stationed in Austin, Texas when they welcomed their firstborn son, Larry Martin Robinson. They later returned to Parker County, living on Shadle Hill Road where their daughter, Valynda Kathleen Robinson, was born. David and Helen built their family home in the Lago Lindo community of Peaster, Texas. Helen and David were active members and devout supporters of their local community. Helen was a founding member of the Peaster Athletic Booster Club, and they were awarded with the Honorary Chapter FFA Degree for their support of the Peaster Agriculture program and the Peaster FFA Livestock show.

Over the years Helen worked at various companies, including the Weatherford Democrat, Perry Equipment Company in Mineral Wells, and she retired from CD Hartnett in Weatherford after several years of service.

Helen and David enjoyed many years of memories with their family and grandchildren at their home in Peaster. Helen spent her years in retirement doing what she loved, caring for her grandchildren and cheering them on at their various school and extra curricular activities. She was a matriarch, mother and Grannie to not only her family, but anyone that needed her love and support, including the players and families of the softball community. She offered encouragement and advice to all that she met, whether they asked for or not.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, David Robinson; son, Larry Robinson and wife, Carlie of Valley Mills; daughter, Valynda Hartgraves and husband, Jon of Lipan; Helen’s pride and joy- her beloved grandchildren, Miranda McKinzie and partner, Malik Garza, Bailey McKinzie, Daniel McKinzie, Sydney Swearingin, Cash Swearingin, Eric Hartgraves, John Hartgraves, and dearest great grandson, Kai Garza; brother, Buddy Martin and wife, Diane of Springtown; sister, Barbara Williams and husband, Charles of Poolville; sister, Wanda Parris of Fort Worth; brother in law, Bill Robinson and wife, Nancy of Comanche; sister in law, Luan Jennings and husband, Darrell of Poolville; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Helen was preceded in death by her mother, Clairice Auvenshine Martin; father, Oliver Windle Martin; step mother, Ruth Thompson Martin; nephew, Rodney Windle Martin; and step brothers, Johnnie and Lonnie Thompson

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 14, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, followed by private burial services at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in honor of Helen to the The AUsome Allen Foundation, Peaster Athletic Booster Club, or Peaster FFA Alumni Association.
