Hedwig Schober Garrett

Hedwig (Hedy) Schober Garrett, 93, of Westworth Village, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family on June 20, 2022.

Hedy was born April 20, 1929, in Vilshofen, Germany to Alois and Maria Schober. There in Germany, she met the love of her life, Basil Garrett. An American soldier stationed there. They were married in Waco, TX on August 26, 1955. Hedy was a stay-at-home mom raising two children, Steven, and Shauna.

She loved traveling, sewing, crafting, canning and homemaking. She was a long-time member of the German/American club.

Survived by her son, Steven C. Garrett of Red River, New Mexico and her daughter and son-in-law, Shauna C. and Bill Ward of Fort Worth, her sister, Hildegard Riesemann and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Visitation: Thursday, July 7, 2022, 10-11am at Galbreaith-Pickard Hilltop Chapel, 4941 I-20 Frontage Road, Willow Park, TX 76087.
Funeral Service: Thursday, July 7, 2022, 11am-12pm at Galbreaith-Pickard Hilltop Chapel.
Graveside: Tuesday, July 12, 2022, 11:00am at Dallas – Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211 .
