Hazel Louise Haley

January 11, 1930 — January 8, 2016

Hazel Louise Haley, 85, passed away surrounded by family on January 8, 2016 in Weatherford, Texas.  She was born January 11, 1930 in Gainesville, Texas where she spent her childhood.  She received a Bachelor’s degree in Education from North Texas University and taught school for two years before marrying Charlie Haley on June 7, 1952 in Big Spring, Texas.  Together they raised a family in various parts of Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico before retiring to Weatherford in 1988.  Hazel was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church, Hazel enjoyed fishing, quilting, and spending time with family.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Charlie, her daughter Cindy Mayse and her husband David of Houston, Texas; her daughter Debbie and her husband Rocky of Green River, Wyoming; her daughter Laura of Woodway, Texas; daughter in law, Shirley Haley of Hobbs, New Mexico; sister, Juanita Hammond, of Kermit, Texas; her eight grandchildren Topher, Allen, Julie, Lauren, Mikey, Nick, Kristen and Robert; four great grandchildren Alex, Nate, Jessa, and Corbin; and many friends and family whose lives she touched. 
Hazel is preceded in death by her son, Charles Haley of Hobbs, New Mexico.

 

Funeral Services will be Monday, January 11th, 10am at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel with interment following at Zion Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 10th from 2-4pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Fellowship Baptist Church, 173 Green Branch Road, Weatherford, Texas 76085.
