Harvalene Ames

Harvalene (Linthicum) Ames, 87, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. On October 27, 1935, she was born to Harvey Linthicum and Juanita (Young) Linthicum near the Brazos River in the small town of Dennis, Texas. Harvalene married E.H. Ames, Jr. and together they raised two daughters, Kathy and Cheryl. Harvalene took great pride in being a wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a wonderful cook. Holiday dinners will never be the same without her loving presence. Harvalene was a member of the Crossroad Church in Aledo and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Harvalene was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, E.H. Ames, Jr; parents, Harvey and Juanita Linthicum; and siblings, Bobby, Faye Jean, and Patricia Linthicum.

Harvalene is survived by her two daughters, Kathy Pettit of Weatherford, Texas, and Cheryl West and husband, Dan of Bedford, Texas; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and sister, Margie Allbritton of Weatherford, Texas.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Aledo Brown Cemetery, in Aledo, Texas, officiated by Pastor Lee Brewer.
