Harless Blena Scoggins, 83, of Weatherford, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2007, in Fort Worth. He was born to Albert and Othelia Scoggins, on August 25, 1923, in Pecan Gap, Texas.
Mr. Scoggins was a member of the South Side Baptist Church and a World War II Veteran, who was awarded the Purple Heart on two occasions during his time proudly spent in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by both parents; brother, Keith Scoggins; sister, Sammy Burt; and two grandchildren.
He is survived by wife of 34 years, Willie B. Scoggins; daughters, Gail Moyer of Tye, Texas, Shirley Anderson of Fort Worth, and Vicki Hall of Arlington; sons, Lanny Scoggins of Fort Worth, Robert Newkirk of Weatherford, Paul Newkirk of Weatherford, and Jack Newkirk of Aledo; brother, Larry Scoggins of Weatherford; 13 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandchild.
Funeral will be in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, July 25, with interment in the East Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
