Hal Townsend

Hal Townsend, 77, of Fort Worth passed away Tuesday October 12, 2010 in a Fort Worth care facility. Born February 4, 1933 in Alto, Texas, he was a long time resident of Tarrant County. Hal retired from Bell Helicopter in 1998 after 34 years. He was a machinist and a tool application engineer. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Hal is preceded in death by his parents, Tom Hobson and Ethel Mae Rogers Townsend, and two sisters, Wenona Skinner and Beulah Faye White.  The family would like to thank Texas Oncology, Dr. Negron, Dr. Vernon Ellis, Dr. Tracy Roberson, Dr. Kevin Connelly, Community Hospice of Texas and Shepherd’s Valley Cowboy Church
 Survivors: wife, Fern Townsend of Fort Worth; daughters, Pamela Simpson and husband Baxter of Virginia, Jeanne Shipley of Michigan, brother, Don Townsend of Weatherford; sisters, Tommy Doris George of North Richland Hills and Ann Townsend of Tennessee; grandchildren, Donyel Simpson of Weatherford, Stephanie Simpson-Potter of Maryland and Travis Hal Simpson of Virginia; great grandchildren, Collin and Callie Simpson-Potter
 Graveside: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the Annetta Cemetery. Visitation 6-8 p.m. Friday at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
