Goldie Lily Evans Neill

Goldie Lily Evans Neill, age 92, of Weatherford, died early Sunday morning, October 5, 2008 in a local nursing facility. Born February 10, 1916 in New Castle, Texas, a resident of Weatherford for many years. She was a homemaker, seemstess, retired nurse’s aide and member of the York Avenue Baptist Church. She loved her plants and her pets. Goldie was preceded in death by her husbands, Johnny Evans and Clifford Neill, a daughter Sherry Acker, four sisters and five brothers. Survivors: Daughters – Shirley Gruben of Weatherford, Pam Wright of Springtown, Sons – Darrell Evans and wife Kathy, of Weatherford, Bill Evans and wife Helen of Perrin, Mack Evans and wife Nancy of Arlington   Brothers – Cecil Briscoe and wife, Katie of Weatherford, Johnny Briscoe and wife, Isabelle of Spokane, Washington. 15 Grandchildren, 27 Great Grandchildren and 23 Great Great Grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, October 7, 2008 in the East Greenwood Cemetery. Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday, October 6 at the funeral home.
