George Smith Mittendorf

George Smith Mittendorf, 76, passed from this life on Sunday, January 15, 2023. George was born December 29, 1946, in Saint Joseph, Missouri, to Hernando Mittendorf and Leota (Smith) Mittendorf. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp Reserves. George built a career in Data Processing for Sprint in the telecommunications industry. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. George will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

George is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Joyce L. Mittendorf of Weatherford, Texas; son, Jason Smith Mittendorf and wife, Lauren; son, Kyle Evan Mittendorf and wife, Jamie; and five grandchildren, Briley, Halle, Brooklynn, Jacob, and Allison.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Hernando and Leota Mittendorf.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, January 21, 2023, at First Baptist Church Dennis, 7600 FM 1189 Dennis, Texas 76439, officiated by Bro. Danny Shearman.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Wounded Warriors, Grace House Ministries (Weatherford), or First Baptist Church Dennis.
