Frederick Melvin Ellis

  Frederick Melvin Ellis, of Weatherford, 74, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013. Mr. Ellis was born March 10th, 1939, in Clarendon, Texas, to Clyde and Ruby Ellis. He grew up in Parker County and was a member of Union Baptist Church. Fred was employed by Southern Airways as a helicopter mechanic at Fort Wolters. He also owned and operated an 8 track tape distributing company which covered five states as well as a gas station in Weatherford. He also worked for Wal-Mart, Buckeye Cabinets and Redstone Industries.

  Mr. Ellis was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Ruby Ellis; and siblings, Betty Bishop, Gordon Ellis and Dorain Pennington.
 
 Survivors include siblings, Jenell Crabb, Kay Hull and Billie Stone; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family, as well as many close family friends. 

  Services will be Tuesday, May 21, at 2:00 p.m., at Galbreaith Pickard Chapel to be followed by a brief graveside service at Lone Star Cemetery west of Poolville.
 
  Mr. Ellis requested donations be sent to the Pythian Home in lieu of flowers.
