Freddie Newton Thomas, 77, of Weatherford, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, June 13, 2017. He was born March 29, 1940. Freddie was a life time resident of Parker County. He attended Central Christian Church of Weatherford. He retired superintendent for Joe Adams Construction. Freddie was an avid horseman and a 41 year member of the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and spending time with his grandchildren. Freddie is preceded in death by his wife 54 years Barbara Farrel Thomas; father Robert Thomas; mother and step-father Lorene Thomas Rutledge and Chester Rutledge; and brother Bobby Thomas.

Survivors include his son Jeff Thomas of Weatherford; daughter Cindy Thomas Elders and husband John of Weatherford; grandchildren, Brooke Thomas, Jake Thomas and Sarah Elders; sisters, Patricia Cardenas and Sherry Hall; brother Craig Rutledge; and his faithful dogs Baxter and Chico Rodriguez.

Memorial service will be held Friday, June 16 at 11:00 at Central Christian Church in Weatherford. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Crossroads Ministries or Freedom House.
