Frances Lee Thompson, 65, of Weatherford, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2010, in a local care facility. Frances was born August 28, 1944, in Arlington, Texas, to Jake and Jewel Lassie Cox. Frances was regarded as a brave woman by her family. She was an extraordinary mother to her children, loved everybody she met and never met a stranger. She was a waitress at Waffle House some thirteen years and was an avid Bingo player.
Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert Bubby Torres; and sister, Patricia Salazar.
Survivors include her husband of nineteen years, Thomas; daughter, Teresa Gibson and husband, Dennis of Indiana; sons, Tommy Ray Torres, Daniel Torres, Joey Baker (Hope), and Thomas Allen Thompson, Jr. and wife, Vanessa of Fort Worth; sisters, Peggy Strain and husband, Roger, Sandra Raistrick and husband, Billy, and Delita Moody of Weatherford; brothers, Bobby Cox of Azle and Tommy Cox of Fort Worth; sixteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, at 3:00 p.m., in the Curtis cemetery.
