Fern Coalson Hudson

Fern Coalson Hudson, age 101, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, October 13, 2013.
     Fern was born February 16, 1912 to Vines and Mattie Coalson in Garner, TX.  She was one of seven children: Gladys, Wayne, Brooks, Lem, Fern, Marshall and Lou.  Fern married D.R. Hudson on Nov. 25, 1937 and was married for 63 years before D. R. died on June 19, 2000.  She taught school in Mineral Wells, TX., at Sam Houston Elementary for 35 years.  Fern was active in many organizations: D.A.R., Eastern Star, and was a charter member of the Weatherford Retired Teachers Association.
     Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Hudson Owen and her husband, Jerry of Arlington, TX; grandson, Chris Owen of Weatherford, TX; great-grandson, Harley Owen of Weatherford, TX; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and numerous friends.
     Memorial: Bethesda United Methodist Church, Weatherford College, or Covenant Hospice.

 Visitation: Tuesday, October 15, 2023 from 4-6 p.m.

 Graveside service: Wednesday, October
16, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Bethesda Cemetery with a memorial service to
follow at 11:00 a.m. at Bethesda United Methodist Church, 6657 N. FM
113, Weatherford, TX  7088.
