Everett Wayne Walden

July 6, 1938 — March 17, 2020

Everett Wayne Walden, 81, of Weatherford, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, March 17, 2020, at Medical City Hospital from complications of Type 1 Diabetes. Wayne had been diagnosed with Diabetes over 50 years ago.

Visitation will be held from 9 until 5 pm, Friday, March 20, 2020 at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel. A Graveside Committal Service will be held at 10:30 A.M., on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at the Authon Cemetery. Due to Covid-19 concerns, we wish to limit attendance. We know how much you care, but the last thing Wayne would have wanted was for someone to get sick from attending his funeral. On the other hand, if you want to attend, feel free to do so.

Wayne was born on July 6, 1938 in Garner, Texas. He was one of four sons born to R.E. and Lillie Walden. Wayne was a graduate of Millsap High School and Weatherford College. He served in the Texas National Guard, 49th Armored Division. He was life-long farmer and rancher. Nothing made Wayne happier than plowing a straight row with a John Deere, building a good fence, or watching cattle eat their feed. He was an intelligent, gentle man, who cared for all beings, great and small. He will be missed, and remembered by all who knew him.

Everett is survived by his brothers, Tommie and wife Lynn, Jerry and wife Ronda, and Larry Walden; and by his nieces and nephews, Keri, Joncy, Melody, Jodie, Jordan, Misty and Stacy.

Everett was preceded in death by his parents.
