Evelyn Huse

July 3, 1925 — May 3, 2008

Evelyn Huse was blessed as she answered the call of our Lord on May 3, 2008, to come to the place prepared for her. Born July 3, 1925, Evelyn Elva Lentz was baptized on July 19, 1938, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Sparenburg, Texas. At the same church in 1945, she married Ernest Huse, her husband for 63 years. After living in Corpus Christi and Lamesa, Evelyn and family moved to Weatherford in the fall of 1958 and officially joined Trinity Lutheran Church in January 1959.
Evelyn was a Christian wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She served God by setting a Christian example to her family and by being a diligent worker behind the scenes, keeping the church and church grounds beautifully maintained.
Evelyn was the youngest daughter of Emil Julius Lentz and Ida Gehring Lentz. She was preceded in death by her parents and three older brothers; Henry, Felix and Walter. She is survived by her husband, Ernest, her daughter, Donna Varney and husband Steve of Weatherford; her son, Lon and wife Mimi of Houston; grandson, Paul Varney and wife Linda of Grand Prairie, and grandson, Tim Varney, wife Jennifer and great granddaughter, Ava of Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Canada; also by marriage, three grandchildren, Caroline of Mississippi, Meredith of Chicago, and Adam of Houston and two great grandchildren, Thea Grace and Aiden. Evelyn is also survived by sisters, Lorina Allmann of Colorado and Velesta Huse of Graham, Texas, and by younger brothers Victor of Lamesa, Texas and Karl of Duncanville, Texas.
