Doris Belle Dodson

Doris Belle Dodson, 84, of Weatherford passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013 at her residence. She was born April 2, 1929 in Adell, Texas to Andy Curtis and Ida Belle Broom. Doris was a secretary for Lockheed Martin, a member of the Baptist Church and the Historical Society. Mrs. Dodson enjoyed gardening and genealogy research. She spent countless hours researching her family tree. Doris loved spending time with her family especially her granddaughter.  Even through her own failing health, Doris held on to take care of her husband, Arliss Dodson, as he struggled with cancer.  She was preceded in death by her husband Arliss Caleb Dodson and her parents. Mrs. Dodson is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Holt and husband Leslie of Weatherford; sister, Wanda Novacek and husband Bernard of Whitt; granddaughters, Tara Upchurch and Melissa Sones and husband Tommy; great grandchildren, David Moore, Matthew Sones and Bethany Sones.

Service: Graveside 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at East Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Monday at Galbreaith Pickard.
