Dewla “Jean” Hodges, 93, lifelong resident of Weatherford, passed away on Thursday evening, December 3, 2020.
A graveside committal service will be held at 12 Noon, on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at Dicey Cemetery, east of Weatherford.
Jean was born June 24, 1927, in Weatherford, to Dewey and Eula Dill. She graduated from Weatherford High School and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Texas Wesleyan University. Jean married Ted Hodges and together had two daughters, Kathy and Lori. She taught for HEB School system for 28 years. An accomplished artist, Jean was a member of the Mid Cities Fine Arts Association. She and her husband, Ted, enjoyed spending time at their cabin at Possum Kingdom Lake. Most of all, Jean will affectionately be remembered as being a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Jean is survived by her granddaughters, Jennie Thomas and Garilynn Andresen; and by her great-grandchildren, Kirsten, Blaine, Tanner, Zaden, Hailey, Savana, and Aralynn.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; and by her daughters, Kathy and Lori.
