Devon Michelle Parton (Dyer) was called home to Jesus on April 11, 2021 surrounded by family and friends in her home. Devon fought a long courageous battle with cancer and left a legacy that will not be forgotten. She touched numerous lives by sharing her unwavering faith and testimony with others.
Devon was born January 5, 1986 in Fort Worth, TX to James Michael Dyer and Wendy Layne Faulk. Devon grew up in Weatherford, TX with her sister, Danielle Dyer, who cared for her throughout her courageous battle. In 1994, Totsie, lovingly known as “Tottie”, became a second bonus mom to Devon and Danielle. Throughout her childhood Devon enjoyed spending time with family, cousins, and friends at Possum Kingdom Lake. She also enjoyed numerous sleepovers with friends and cousins at her mom’s house, where she made lots of messes, but had lots of fun. Devon graduated from Weatherford High School in 2004 and then graduated from Cosmetology School and pursued a career for several years in Cosmetology. During this time she met her loving husband of 12 years, Joshua Clayton Parton. They married in 2009 and share three wonderful boys, Kanton, Tayte, and Graham. She was then called to become a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked at Peachtree and Crescent in Weatherford for several years. Devon then felt led to homeschool her boys and did so until she had a calling to lead children to know God and began working as an administrator at Grace Christian Academy. However, Devon’s biggest calling in life was sharing her faith and testimony with others so that they could know Jesus the way she did. Devon and Josh began attending Emannuel Church and doing the work they had been called to do. Later, they were called to Neon Life to continue doing God’s work and leading others to Christ. There is not a person that has met Devon, that hasn’t been touched in some way and wanted the faith that she had.
Devon is survived by her husband Josh, sons, Kanton, Tayte, and Graham, parents Wendy and Michael Jordan, Mike and Suzy Dyer, Totsie Dyer, sister Danielle Dyer, niece Kammi, cousin Kortney Sikes and son Dakota, Mother in Law Lisa and husband Terry Brandenburg, grandmother Peggy Faulk and numerous other family and friends that she loved and viewed as family.
