Darey Earl Sandifer

Darey Earl “Sandy” Sandifer, 67, of Weatherford passed May 27, 2018 at his home. Visitation will be held from 2 P.M. until 3 P.M, on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, with a memorial service celebrating his life beginning at 3 P.M. Interment will be private at the DFW National Cemetery.
Darey was born October 29, 1951 in Pineville, Louisiana to Georgie Rea and Sarah Sandifer. He proudly served country in the U.S. Navy for 18 years and was a Vietnam Veteran. He married Betty Stanford on January 9, 1988. Darey enjoyed playing golf and was an avid Texas Rangers fan. He was an accomplished musician, singer, and song writer. Darey was friend to everyone he met and he ‘never met a stranger.” Most of all, Darey will be remembered for being a devoted husband, father, and grandfather to his family.
Darey is survived by his children, Tasha Wildeson and husband Bradley, Samantha Deutsch and husband Cody, Bob Sandifer and wife Cynthia, Pamela Witherspoon, Tray Witherspoon, and Stephen Witherspoon and wife Emily; his grandchildren, Cicely, Emma, Danielle, Hannah, Jacob, Christian, Brittany, Layla, Scout, and Stetson; and by one great-granddaughter, Hayley.
In addition to his parents, Darey was preceded in death by his wife, Betty and by his sister, Alice Faye Sandifer, and by his infant brother, Bobby Rea.
