Claudia Lorene Bowden

January 12, 1942 — March 4, 2015

Claudia Lorene Bowden, age 73, was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven to be with our Lord and Savior Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at her home surrounded by her family. Claudia was born Jan. 12, 1942, in Detroit, MI, to Kenneth Taylor and Helen Taylor-Sanderson. Claudia was raised by her mother and second father, Harold J. Sanderson. She was an Ordained Minister with a Bachelors Degree in Theology, Former Prison Ministry Chaplain, and Retired Accounts Manager with Texas Workforce Commission.  She was a devoted member of Congregation Yada Elohim. Claudia loved her community and participated in many groups and organizations including; being a member of the Weatherford Chamber of Commerce, serving as a Lifetime Ambassador, Board Member, and was one of two recipients to be honored with the Presidential Award, a member of the East Parker County Chamber of Commerce, serving on the Economic Development Committee, Former Member Springtown Chamber, Mineral Wells Chamber, and North East Parker County Chamber, has served on the Weatherford College Tech Prep Board, City of Weatherford Economic Development Board, Member of the Zonta Club, and Volunteered taught at the Weatherford Center of Hope.
 
Claudia is survived by her children:  Scott Van Etten and wife Regena, of Keller; Tim Van Etten and wife Mary, of Rhome; Kelly Heberlie and husband Al, of Perryville, MO; Danie Huffman, of Weatherford; and Christine Mannon and Guy Courtney, of Fort Worth. Grandchildren: Katherine Nicole Van Etten, Tyler Van Etten, Zachary Van Etten, Logan Van Etten, Garrett Van Etten, Alexandria Heberlie, Anneliese Heberlie, Aloysius Heberlie, Meredith Lewis, Scott Huffman, Jordan Huffman, Michael Mannon, Christopher Mannon, Jeremiah Rushford; and great-granddaughter Holli Heberlie. Sisters: Sherry Parks and husband Richard, Suzanne Olah and husband Leroy; Carolyn Kursinsky and husband Dave; and Connie McGlynn and husband Peter; and numerous additional relatives and friends.


Visitation will be held in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel Sunday March 8 from 4 - 6 pm, and the Funeral Ceremony 1:00 pm. Monday, March 9, 2015 at the Greenwood Baptist Church.  Interment will be in the East Greenwood Cemetery
