Christopher Manuel Hooper, 28, of Weatherford, passed away on Monday August 8, 2011. Mr. Hooper was born December 12, 1982 in Laredo, Texas to Valerie and Manuel Rivera. Christopher and his family moved to several different places before settling in Weatherford. He attended Tyson Jr. High and Weatherford High School where he was a band member and played basketball until graduating in 2001. He had also attended classes at the Weatherford College to work on his future. In 2003 Christopher signed up and served proudly in the United States Army. He was deployed to Iraq in 2005 to courageously defend our country against terrorism. During his time in the Army, Mr. Hooper was awarded the Army Commendation medal (2nd award), Army Achievement medal, Army Good Conduct medal, National Defense service medal, Global War on Terrorism service medal, Korean Defense service medal, Iraq Campaign medal, Army service ribbon, Overseas service ribbon(2nd award) and Combat Action badge. He received an Honorable Discharge in September of 2007 then returned home to Weatherford where he began working as a Sales Rep for a distribution company.
Proceeded in death by his maternal grandfather, William J. Hooper and his Uncle, Michael Hooper.

Aunts, Margie Venus and husband Tom of Houston,TX, Julie Settlage and husband Mark of Houston,TX, Uncles, Bernard Hooper and wife Lisa of Odessa, TX
Timothy Hooper and wife Maureen of Houston, TX, 14 cousins and 4 very special friends who were like brothers Eric, Joey, Glen and Andrew.
 
There will be a rosary at St. Stephens Catholic Church on Friday August 12, 2011 at 7pm. Memorial service will also be held at St. Stephens on Saturday at 10:30am.
