Charles Ray Gillum, 67, of Weatherford, went to be with his Lord on Thursday evening, November 16, 2006, after battling cancer. Born August 20, 1939, in Wing, Arkansas, to Orville and Hazel Watson Gillum, Charles was a Baptist minister, a small business owner and a homebuilding contractor for 35 years. He loved God, his wife and children, building, and most of all being “Grandpa.” He lived a wonderful and fulfilling life leaving behind precious memories.
Survivors: wife of 42 years, Paulette Gillum of Weatherford; son, Clinton R. Gillum and wife, Jodi of Weatherford, and grandson, Quinton R. Gillum; daughter, Stacey M. Gillum of Azle; brothers, Wayne Gillum and Lewis Gillum, both of Arkansas, and Bill Gillum, Tom Gillum, and Gary Gillum, all of Kansas; sisters, Larewn Dubberstein and Marilyn Keil, both of Kansas, and Robin Gillum of Granbury; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral service 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 20, 2006, in the First Baptist Church of Weatherford. Interment in East Greenwood Cemetery.
