Caryl Ann Petrera

Caryl Ann Petrera, age 81, passed from this life to her Heavenly Home in the early morning hours of Tuesday, December 7, 2021 in Fort Worth, TX. Caryl was born on February 12, 1940 in Oakland, NE to Gustaf Vincent Nelson and Elvie Lillian (Freed) Nelson. Caryl taught music at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and School in Warsaw, IN for many years and enjoyed music, technology, and crafts - jewelry making, woodworking projects, and painting. She was a wonderful homemaker and loved her family dearly.

In addition to her parents, Caryl is preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Petrera; sister, Beverly Jean Nelson; and brother Merrill Vincent Nelson.

Left to cherish Caryl's memory are her loving family: son and daughter-in-law, Joel (Christine) Douglas of Fort Wayne, IN; son, Marc Douglas of Las Vegas, NV; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen (Ron) Martin of Carrollton, TX; Virginia (Don) Littlefield of Cloudcroft, NM; sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl "Dodie" Jo (Tad) Eickman of Wilber, NE; and brother and sister-in-law, Merlyn "Dean" (Helen) Nelson of Holly Springs, NC; 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and numerous other friends and relatives.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
