Carolina Arriaga

  Carolina Arriaga passed from this life in her home Saturday, August 8, 2009, after a long and courageous fight against cancer, and is now at peace. She was born January 27, 1961, as the fourth of eight children to Josefa and Matias Hernandez in Weatherford, Texas, and lived her life here. She married Genaro Samuel Arriaga on September 6, 1983.

  Her love and devotion to her family was evident throughout her days to all who knew her. In addition to being a homemaker, she enjoyed working for the Weatherford Independent School District as a substitute teacher and helper. Reading was one of her favorite things to do and she loved to go deer hunting with her husband. 

  She is survived by her husband, Genaro; and sons, Genaro Samuel Arriaga, Darrio Tommy Arriaga; daughter, Alysia Nicole Arriaga; many grandchildren; and sisters, Paula Gloria, Lucia Arellano and Olivia Gonzales all of Weatherford; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

  Rosary will be conducted at the Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 11. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 12, at St. Stephen Catholic Church, with interment to follow in the East Greenwood Cemetery.
