Candance "Candy" Janell Tippie

Candance “Candy” Janell Tippie, 56, of Weatherford, passed away March 17, 2009 in a Fort Worth hospital. Candy was born July 24, 1952 in Eagle Lake, Texas to Raymond and Flossie Sheridan. She had been a LVN since 1994 and received various accreditations from local and state authorities for her work in emergency medicine. She was a paramedic, the director of the ambulance services in Teague and Jacksboro, the director of Education at Palo Pinto General Hospital, as well as the founder of Rural EMS for the state of Texas. Candy also taught many others in Paramedic and EMT classes. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Charles D. Tippie, son, Jacob Pickens and wife, Tonya of Douglasville, GA, daughters; Crissy Smallridge and husband Michael of Gatesville, and Cassie Fulton and husband Jerry of Waxahachie, stepmother, Joy Sheridan, sisters; Paula Hopkins and husband Bill of Cedar Park, Debbie Grimes and husband Kenny of Alto, brothers; Jimmy Mahan of Alaska, and Ray Sheridan of Texas, grandchildren; Faith, Brittany, and Mackenzie Smallridge, and Rylan and Grant Pickens, nieces and nephews; Toby and Amanda Hopkins, and Sherry, Carl and Kim Grimes, and a host of numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held at 10 AM Saturday March 21, 2009 at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, interment will follow at Holder’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to National Kidney Foundation 30 East 33rd St. NewYork, NewYork 10016.
