Buford Shreves, 87, of Weatherford, passed away Friday. March 6, 2020. Visitation was held from 1:30 until 4 P.M., on Sunday, March 8, at the Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street in Weatherford. A graveside committal service was held at 10 A.M., on Monday, March 9, at Perrin Cemetery.
Buford was born September 28, 1932, in Broken Bow, Oklahoma to Thomas and Dora Shreves. He married Joyce Satterwhite on December of 1963. Together they had six children. Buford was a Welder and a Pipefitter by trade. He was a true Cowboy who loved his horses. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Weatherford. Buford loved to travel. Most of all, Buford will be remembered as a man who loved and cherished his family – particularly his children and grandchildren.
Buford is survived by his children, Dean (Jean) Shreves, Evelyn Davenport, Judy (Eddie) Gray, Dora Hanley, Juston (Tammye) Shreves, Kathy (James) Hancock and Peggy (Monte) Herring; 3 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and by his sisters, Nina Marshall, Lola Roger, and Arlie Stover.
In addition to his parents, Buford was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; and by his siblings, Lena Shreves and Ray Shreves.
