Bobby Ray Monday, 79, of Weatherford, passed away after a short illness on Wednesday, February, 15, 2017, at his home. A graveside committal service will be held at 5:00 P.M., on Saturday, February 18, at Bethesda Cemetery.
Bobby was born August 20, 1937, in Knoxville, TN. He was one of six children born to William and Ola Monday. Bobby married Cathy Barnes and together had four daughters. Bobby proudly served his country in the USAF during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed Bluegrass gospel music. Bobby will be remembered for his hard work and his devotion to his family. He instilled the value of hard work, giving to others, and unconditional kindness to his family and to everyone whom he came in contact with.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Cathy of 57 years; his daughters, Laurie (Steve) Cox, Christine Holybee (Daniel Porter), and Karen Michele Monday; grandchildren, Catherine “Catye”, Jennifer, Lydia, Sarah, Tori Ray and Miranda; 10 great-grandchildren; his sister, Betty Charlene Hawkins; and by his brothers, William Paul Monday II, James Edward Monday, and Eddie Lynn Monday; and by his brother-in-law, Gary Lee Barnes.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his daughter, Vikki Diane Bradley; his grandson, Matthew Holybee; and by his brother, Allen Monday.
