Bobby Ray (Bob) Erwin, age 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 28th 2012.
He was born on July 10th 1928 to Biddy Lafayette and Lera (Williams) Erwin in Graford, Texas. Bob was class president every year he attended Graford High School having graduated with the Senior class of 1945. After serving two years in the Army Air Force, Bob worked 41 years at General Dynamics (Lockheed Martin) as an aerospace electronics engineer until his retirement. Bob married Emma Wynell Odom on March 31st 1950 of Palo Pinto, County and they moved to Weatherford, Texas in 1963 where he lived until his death.
Bob was baptized into Christ on his 12th birthday serving every day of his life thereafter, preaching and teaching the Lord’s “word” in the footsteps of his grandfather and Minister of the Gospel, Samuel Williams, as well as his great-grandfather, brush-arbor circuit preacher, Brother Ed Hall. Along with his ministries, Bob was also an Elder of the Church of Christ for 35 years and a member of South Main Church Of Christ in Weatherford.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Biddy Jean McMurry, all of whom were from Mineral Wells, Texas.
Bob is survived by his dearly beloved wife of 62 years, Wynell; their four children, Bobby Louis Erwin and his wife, Jackie of Arlington, Texas, Randall Scott Erwin and his wife, Carolyn of Santo, Texas, Laurie Nell DeBord and her husband, Don of Ft. Worth, Texas and Nanette Leigh Sullivan and her husband, Jon of Ft. Worth, Texas; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Patsy Pearl Harvey and her husband, Buck Harvey of Houston, Texas; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Pallbearers are Tony Chandler, Chris Jones, Mark Erwin, Jack Smothers, Wesley Lynch, Jeff McCarty, Trey Sullivan, and Brad McCarty.
Memorial gifts may be given to Bob’s favorite charity, Christ’s Haven For Children, 4200 Keller Haslet Rd, Ft Worth, TX.
Galbreaith-Pickard is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 30th from 6 until 8
p.m. at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm St,
Weatherford, Texas. Funeral services will be conducted by Michael Lum,
Friday, August 31st 10:00 a.m. at South Main Church of Christ, 201 South Main St., Weatherford, Texas, followed by interment at Landreth Cemetery.
