Blanche Marie Wood

August 23, 1927 — May 18, 2014

Blanche Marie Rhodes Wood of Weatherford left this earth to be with her Savior and loved ones on Sunday, May 18, 2014.  Blanche was the first born to Arnie and Eula Fae Collier Rhodes on August 23, 1927 in Jacksboro, TX. She was blessed to have Godly, moral parents that instilled standards she applied to her life. She was the first of seven children, five girls and 2 boys. She lived her life by her life quote... Treat others as you want to be treated and love one another. She had a strong determination and would always do what was moral and right. She lived her life as an example of this. She never had a bad word to say about anyone. She lived with ill health the last years of her life, but still lived to be encouragement to others. She loved and enjoyed life, people, and never met a stranger. She loved her parents and siblings and showed it by her love for them. She was an unbelievable wife, Mother, Memaw, sister and homemaker. She loved her family beyond imagination. She especially loved and enjoyed her grandchildren. She gave life all she had and enjoyed it until the end. She was a devoted Christian and a member of the Baptist Church. She married her husband, George Wood, in January, 1947. They made their home in Parker County for 65 years and raised three children. She was employed by General Dynamics until she was stricken by bad health.  Blanche was preceded in death by her husband, George W.
