Billy Deane Glenn

August 17, 1931 — August 4, 2013

Deane Glenn, 81, passed away on August 4, 2013 at his home.
Deane was born on August 17, 1931, in Weatherford.  He married the love of his life, Bernice, in 1950 and together they shared 59 years of marriage.
Deane’s legacy as a committed educator was demonstrated by more than thirty years as a coach, teacher, and principal at Aledo High School.  While doing so, he was a role model to many for his character, work ethic, and strong leadership skills.
He enjoyed quail hunting, watching Texas Rangers baseball, and listening to country music.  He was a committed member of First Baptist Church Aledo for more than fifty years where he enjoyed potluck with his friends, time at the coffee bar, and his Sunday School class.  His greatest joy was  time spent with family.
Deane served the Lord well, was a wise, respected, and well- loved leader of his family, his church and his community.  He will be remembered for his legacy of faith and diligence, his passionate love for his wife and family, and his “never give up” attitude.
Deane was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma and Roy Glenn; brothers: Floyd and David Glenn; his wife, Bernice; grandson, John; and daughter, Mickey.
Survivors:  son, Woody Glenn and wife, Kathy; daughter, Patty Fincher and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Abi Hoffman and husband, David; Elias Glenn and wife, Shen Rong; Matthew Glenn; Katie Winarsky and husband, Dave; Lindy Conrad and husband Michael; Annagrace Small and husband, Steven; Jeremiah Fincher and wife, Emily; 4 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Nell Ferguson, June Butler, and James Glenn.
