Bill R. Boecker

October 13, 1936 — January 18, 2021

Bill (Papaw) Boecker passed peacefully from this world into glory surrounded by his family. Bill was a lifelong Parker county resident.

He is survived by his wife Martha Boecker, son Randy Boecker and wife Jennifer of Weatherford, daughter Mandy Coffee and husband Greg of Weatherford, grandson Cooper Coffee of Weatherford, step grandchildren Colton Dobbs of New York, Tanner Dobbs of Weatherford, Kallie Pitts of Poolville and step great grandson River Dobbs, sisters Wanda Todd of Weatherford and Sherry Pieropan of Colorado and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Allie Boecker.

Bill was an honorable man, passionate and firm in his beliefs. He was a man with many skills and varied occupations which suited him, ranging from livestock inspector, cattle rancher, heavy equipment and tractor mechanic and petroleum transporter. In later life he held an esteemed position of coffee drinker every morning with his buddies, solving the problems of the world and the farm and ranch industry.

Bill was a family man, faithful to his wife Martha of 52 years and dedicated to his twin children Randy and Mandy. We would say he was always quick with a joke, but if you knew him, you knew it took a while to get to the punch line, but it was usually worth the wait, as half of the humor of the joke was his slow country style in the telling. His life and roots and the source of his being were firmly planted in the soil of his family land that has been in the family for generations. He was born and passed away in the same farm house. The land is where his knowledge of cattle, crops, keeping the equipment running and everyday rural life was passed to his son Randy and his beloved grandson Cooper. So many stories of by gone times and the traditions they held were passed on at the supper table or at the barn cussing a tractor. Though the passing of this man has now come and we are saddened and lost. We can never forget him, because the trees, the grass, the creeks, the costal field and the “dang deer” that eat the garden won’t let us. This is what was part of him, and we are grateful that it still lives in us through him. We are thankful for the blood of Jesus Christ, shed for all believers which assures us a future and eternal reunion one day.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Zion Hill Cemetery Association or North Side Baptist Packs of Love ministry (which helps feed WISD students in need).
