Betty Louise Chenault

February 1, 1957 — February 7, 2022

Betty Louise (Reddell) Chenault—beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend—awoke to meet her savior and reunite with her loving parents on Monday, February 7, 2022. Born in Weatherford, Texas on February 1, 1957 to Jackie Royce and Pairlee Isabel (Green) Reddell, Betty was a child fiercely prayed and fought for who grew into a woman who fiercely loved others. She was surrounded by loved ones as she passed from this realm to the next. She was 65. A graduate of Weatherford High School in Weatherford, Texas, Betty served as a Stephens County Court Reporter in Duncan, Oklahoma for 13 years of her long stenography career—and Duncan became her home. She modeled grace and grit as she pursued her education and certification while also working full-time and being fully present as a wife and mother. Betty was an avid reader, a quick wit, and a formidable competitor in the casino—because the house certainly lost to her. She lived her life with quiet courage and strength of character teaching her children and grandchildren how to love deeply, well, and with mercy and grace. She never gave up on any of us—and always saw what we could be.

She was preceded in death by her parents and stepdaughter, Holly Chenault.

Betty is survived by her children: Tara Hackney-Campbell (Milo) of Duncan, Oklahoma; Randy Chenault (Sara) of Granbury, Texas; Stepson, Peter Chenault (Jennifer) of San Angelo, Texas; her grandchildren: Taylor Chenault (Sabrina), Rileigh Hackney, Nicholas Hackney, Erin Chenault, Blake Connolly, Cole Chenault; her sister: Mary English (Randy) of Poolville, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews; and her former husband: Patrick Chenault.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her name as Betty and family support this organization in honor of her own mother.
