Betty Frances Bowman

August 7, 1937 — September 24, 2022

Betty Pryor Bowman was born in Baytown, Texas on August 7, 1937. She attended Robert E. Lee High School where she was a drum majorette and an excellent twirler, often displaying her expertise with fire batons! She attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, majoring in Business. Betty married, had two children, and enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom often involved in her children’s schools, PTA and also, her church where she sang in the choir. Later, she became a legal secretary for Cantey Hanger law firm in Fort Worth. Upon her retirement, “Mimi” helped care for her grandchildren, enjoyed clowning with Cowtown Clowns ministry as Mimi T. Clown, and won Runner-up in the Mrs. Senior Parker County Contest in 2008. She loved Jesus, her tiny home, sewing, the color red, Bluebell ice cream, and her family.

For the past 15 months, Betty has made her home at College Park Rehabilitation and Care Center where she was lovingly and compassionately cared for by the staff and was a favorite of the staff and the many friends she made there. It was there, surrounded by family, that she transitioned to her eternal home on Sunday, September 25, 2022. No more Parkinson’s. No more pain. Though she will be missed, her family and friends mourn with hope as she now enjoys a “whole” new body and an amazing eternal life, knowing we will see her again in heaven.

We would love for you to join us as we celebrate her life on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at 10:00 AM in the Chapel at North Side Baptist Church, 910 N. Main Street, Weatherford, Texas, 76086.

Betty was predeceased by her husband, Milo “Pete” Bowman, her mother and father, Frances Pryor and David Monroe Pryor, Sr., and her brothers, Donald Pryor and Robert Pryor. She is survived by her brother, David Monroe Pryor Jr., daughter and son-in-law, Teri and Beaux Riley, son and daughter-in-law, Bret and Shanna Dinkins, grandchildren, Ashleigh Riley, Rachel Riley, Sarah Riley, Emma Riley, Madeline Dinkins, Michael Dinkins, and Bailey Duvall, great granddaughter, Ellie Gamblin, beloved nieces and nephews and many precious friends.
