Betty Ann King

June 4, 1930 — January 5, 2023

After 92 1/2 well-lived years Betty Ann Anderson King left her earth family to be reunited with her husband, granddaughter, mother, father, aunts, uncles and friends. Betty was born June 4, 1930, in Grapevine, Texas to W.W. (Tiny) and Ila Anderson. After her mother’s passing at an early age, she went to live with her grandparents in Grapevine until her father’s marriage to Myrtle Walker Anderson. That union garnered her a step-brother, Herb Walker and later a step-sister, Minnie Anderson Mason.

At an early age she met and married Eddie Jack King on June 21, 1947. As a stay-at-home mom her door was always open to everyone and there was always one of her delicious desserts on hand. After her children were grown, she began working at a flower shop as a floral designer for several years.

Eddie and Betty lived in Grapevine before moving to Haltom City where they raised their two children, treating them to yearly vacations across the U.S. When retirement was a few years away, the couple bought land in Weatherford and built a home. The next step to retirement was the purchase of a fifth-wheel. When retirement time finally arrived, they spent several years traveling with friends both in the U.S. as well as overseas.

The couple were faithful members of the Church of Christ all their lives. Their last home-church was South Main Church of Christ where they made many lasting friends. After Eddie passed away April, 2018, Mom elected to sell their home and move to Westfork Assisted Living where she spent her last 3 years. She excelled at crocheting and making scarves, blankets, etc. for friends and employees.

She is survived by daughter, Cheryl and husband, Kenny; son, Eddie L. and wife, Debbie; brother, Herb Walker; sister, Minnie Mason; granddaughters, April Daniel and Angie Hollman; and four great grandchildren.
