Benny Earl Pitchford

Benny Earl Pitchford, age 92, passed from this life Monday, December 6, 2021. Benny was born March 30, 1929 in Yuma, Arizona to Alvin and Lota Bell Waters Pitchford. He was a former car salesman and owner of Pitchford Pest Control. Benny loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of South Main Church of Christ and was a deacon for over 30 years. He lived his life as a man of God and raised his family to live by faith. Benny loved going to garage sales, tinkering in his barn and attending activities of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be remembered for the twinkle in his eye, the smile on his face, his great sense of humor and the love in his heart. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Benny Pitchford Jr., and Jimmy Pitchford; and a grandson, Garrett Hutton.

Benny is survived by his wife of 70 years, Willa Pitchford of Weatherford; daughters, Peggy Hutton and husband Gary, Debby Steensma and husband Jim, both of Weatherford; grandchildren, Jacob Steensma and wife Danyle, Jenae Steensma, Jay Hutton and wife Rebecca, Maegan Hutton, and Jessica Leyva and husband Matthew; great grandchildren, Jamesyn, Makynlee, Benjamin, and Hattie; sister, Nomalene Smith of Sherman and brother, Arnold Pitchford of Weatherford, numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Visitation: 5-7 pm, Friday, December 10, 2021 at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Funeral Ceremony: 10:00 am, Saturday, December 11, 2021 at South Main Church of Christ with interment to follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
