Barbara Jean Newberry

  Barbara Jean Newberry, 79, passed away on May 31, 2019, in Weatherford, Texas.

  A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Curtis Cemetery beginning at 11:00 a.m. Prior, a visitation will be held at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel at 10:00 a.m.

  Barbara was born on September 3, 1939, in Lingleville, Texas, to Doss and Opal Christian Yardley. She had three children, Teresa, Danny and Randy. Barbara enjoyed antiquing quite a bit and was known as a historian which led her to be a published author. Above all, she enjoyed being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

  Barbara was preceded in death by her long-term companion of 20 years, David Aiken; parents; and brother, A.C. Yardley.

  Survivors include her children, Teresa Albro (Allen), Danny Newberry, and Randy Newberry; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as two nephews.
