B. Ray Armand

B. Ray Armand, 79, was born on March 25, 1943, and died on February 27, 2023. Ray was admired, respected, and loved by so many friends and family members. He left this world suddenly, but at home surrounded by loved ones. His departure leaves a huge void in the lives of so many people.

Ray graduated from Polytechnic High School and shortly after went into the US Navy. He served during the Vietnam War. While in the Navy, Ray was trained as an electrician. After his service in the US Navy, Ray joined the Fort Worth Police Department. In the early years he was an undercover narcotic officer and steadily rose through the ranks to become a Captain. Ray received numerous awards and honors for his hard work. The office walls at his home could not hold them all. While serving the FWPD, he went to TCU to receive a degree in Criminal Justice.

Ray was a rancher. In the early years he raised chickens and goats, then went on to beef cattle and longhorns. He received many awards and trophies for his longhorns, and they eventually became “yard art,” but continued with the beef cattle until his last days. He also became an accomplished carpenter, wood worker, welder, and metal artist. He spent his time using those skills to help other people, building everything from cabinets and furniture, to metal gates for ranches. The last project he finished was an amazing metal fire pit for his only daughter, Stacey Armand Dove and his son in law, Brian Dove. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t do, fix, or build. Everyone called on Ray.

Ray’s memory will forever be treasured by his family and friends. Heaven received a good one.
