Avis Norris Noland

Avis Norris Noland, born in Bangs, Texas January 20, 1932 passed away on Monday, January 31, 2011.   Avis lived the life of a true artist.  She studied at the University of Texas where she achieved a Master's in Fine Art while raising a family.  Her paintings will give beauty and comfort to all of us who knew her.   She had an amazing intellect, keen insights, and was, to say the least, a spirited character.  She was an individual who lived a courageous independent life and will be remembered by her family with love. We are sure Avis is now at peace in the most beautiful place of all.
Avis was preceded in death by her husband of thirty two years, James G. Noland, her mother, Tylene Stone and father, Homer Norris.   
Survivors: Daughter; Lare Noland Houston and husband David of Weatherford, sons, Joseph Noland and wife Bethany of Rockwall, James S. Noland and wife Sandra, of San Angelo, John W. Noland and wife Lynn of Baton Rouge, La, grandchildren, Matthew Noland, Sara Noland, Jonathon Noland, of Baton Rouge, Joy and Karis Noland of Rockwall, T.J. and Savannah Houston of Weatherford and David and Hannah Noland of New York and San Angelo.
Graveside: 3:00 pm Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
