Archie Wayne Castleberry

  Archie Wayne Castleberry, 80, of Weatherford, passed away in his sleep Saturday morning, February 23, 2013. He was born May 29, 1932, in Rush Springs, Oklahoma, to the late Olva Franklin and Lena Ray (Black) Castleberry.

  Archie proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a self-employed building contractor until 1978 when he began merchandise trading. Archie was an accomplished carpenter as well as a creative artist. His artistic ability led him to making bronzes.

  He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers.

  He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Jo Castleberry of Weatherford; stepdaughters, Melinda Hawthorne and Robbie Prentice; daughter, Doris Heider; son, Brad Castleberry; sister, Doris Quisenberry; brother, Metz Castleberry and wife, Barbara; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

  A celebration of life is being planned for May 2013.
