Altha Ramona Burris

Altha Ramona Burris passed away on October 1, 2020 at the age of 93. She was born in Durant Oklahoma on September 24, 1927 to Rufus and Iva Doss and was one of six children. Ray, as she was known to friends and family, moved to White Settlement with her husband Herbert from Texarkana in 1958. She was a retired home maker and floral designer. She worked as a floral designer at Cherry Lane Florist and Dillon Florist in White Settlement and was a member of the First Baptist Church of White Settlement. Over the last couple of years, she loved her weekly trips to El Fenix and spending time with her family. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Herbert (Pop) Burris, her parents, four sisters and brother.

Ray is survived by her daughter Linda Dixon, son Mike Burris and his wife Rhuenell, son Phillip and his wife Rebel, son Rick Burris and son Todd Burris. Her grandchildren Karey Wilson, Shane Donaldson, Mandy Jenkins and her husband Chris, Tiffany Burris, Lindsey Walker and her husband Chris and Josh Burris and his wife Christina. Ten Great Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the American Heart Association or Community Hospice of Texas in Ray’s memory.
