Albert J. "Curley" Williams

November 29, 1923 — March 17, 2007

Albert J. “Curley” Williams, age 83, of Weatherford, died on Saturday, March 17, 2007 at his residence.  Born November 29, 1923 in Jayton, Texas, a resident of Weatherford for many years.  Curley was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church and the VFW.  He was a retired WO2 with the Texas National Guard, Veteran of U. S. Army Air Force and World War II.  Mr. Williams was the former owner of Curley’s Car Wash, Dairy Barn, The   Donut Den, Williams Gulf Service Station and Williams Ambulance Service, the first privately owned ambulance service in Parker County.  He was a Military Police for the Texas State Guard, inducted into the Weatherford High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005, founded Company C of the Texas National Guard of Weatherford, a former Golden Gloves Boxing Coach and founder of the Weatherford Boxing Club.  Curley received   Federal recognition from the U. S. Government as a WO 1 in 1952 and an  Adjutant General certificate of commendation in 1977. Curley is suvived by his wife, Nita Williams of Weatherford; two daughters, Judy Putnel of Weatherford and Janye Choate and husband, Bob of Weatherford; four grandchildren, Misti Glasscock, Shane Colliflower and Tanya, Lynda Cronin and husband, Joe and Jerridee Austin & Mark; 14 great grandchildren, Jimmy, Brady, Bailey, Sarah, Cason, Krista, Shayla, Lyndsey, Jori, Lauren, Brandon, Dakota, Dylan and Micah.  Funeral service: 11 AM, Tuesday, March 20, 2007 in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel with interment in Memory Gardens.  Visitation: 6-8 PM on Monday, March 19, 2007 at the funeral home. Memorials may be sent Parker County Meals on Wheels or Freedom House.
