James Valentine "JV" and Norma Plowman In Loving Memory

JV and Norma Plowman purchased Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel in 1975 and served the community of Weatherford with love and compassion for many years. Their legacy will be continued for many years to come by their son, James Plowman. JV passed away in October of 2007 and Norma in March of 2022. They are both missed within our community and especially by their immediate family and the extended GP family.

James R. Plowman has been a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer for over 40 years. James is a native of Weatherford and has been active in the community all of his life. He is dedicated to the needs of bereaved families and specializes in personalization of funeral services to meet the needs of each individual family. A member of the Oak Ridge Church of Christ. He has two daughters and four grandchildren. He has numerous hobbies including woodworking, cyling, amateur photography, and computers. A favorite quote would be, if asked to facilitate a task not already scheduled, “I’ll get to it in my spare time between midnight and 2:00 am.”

Misty was born in Weatherford and grew up in the funeral business. She owned and operated “Memories in Bloom Florist” for 10 years before selling her business and joining our staff. She is married to Travis Engel and has two children Madison and Caden. She is a member of Milestone Church in Keller and sings on the worship team. Misty is actively involved in the community and currently serves on the CASA Hope for Children Board of Directors and as an Ambassador for the East Parker County Chamber of Commerce.

Tony moved to Weatherford from Corpus Christi with his beautiful wife, Rendee McCleery-Rodriguez, and their two dogs. Tim is a board member of the Texas Southern Gospel School of Music as well as the Texas State Singing Convention and spends most of his free time traveling the southern states of the US attending the singings. Tim joined our team in 2018 and enjoys assisting families following their services as well as pre need arrangements.

She is blessed with five wonderfully talented children and five grandchildren, and often says they are the very best parts of her life. Donnetta loves to travel and is always ready for the next adventure. 

Donnetta has built lasting relationships and experience over the past 28 years of her career within the funeral industry, and she joined our team in October 2022. Along with her knowledge and experience, Donnetta has a passion for assisting our families in creating a lasting tribute for their loved one. She understands the importance of memorializing their life in a dignified manner. Her aim is to assist you in cherishing your loved one’s memory in a meaningful way when the time comes.

Debby Steensma, was born and raised in Parker County and married Jim Steensma in 1982. They raised 3 children and she is now the proud "Grandma" to 4 beautiful grandchildren. She graduated from Lubbock Christian University in 1986 with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. She is a lifetime member of South Main Church of Christ. Upon her retirement from teaching, Debby joined Galbreaith Pickard in 2014.

Donald Jones, born in Snyder, Texas and moved to Weatherford in 1962. Don has nine children, seven boys and two girls. He joined Galbreaith Pickard in 2009 assisting on funerals and currently handles the maintenance and cleaning at the offices. He attends New Hope Baptist Church and enjoys spending time with his family and friends as often as he can.
