LaVena Sneed, 85, of Weatherford, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2010 in a Fort Worth hospital. She was born November 22, 1924 in Poolville, TX to George and Effie Sims. LaVena was a retired baker for Weatherford Independent School District and a member of North Main Church of God. She loved to quilt, sew, and read and was a fabulous cook. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Sneed of Kerrville, sons, Ted Way of Weatherford, and Jimmy Way of Millsap, sisters, Bonnie Moore, and Ruth Haney both of Weatherford, eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 10 AM Monday, February 8, 2010 in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, interment will follow in East Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 4 PM Sunday at the funeral home.

Our "Adopted Mother" and Best Friend
Our heart breaks for your loss, as well as ours. La Vena was special to us and we loved her very much. She was a wonderful, kind, loving, and caring friend. Things just won't be the same without her. Please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers. We know she is in heaven watching over everyone.
