Wanda June Walker Langford

June 9, 1932 — February 3, 2018

Surrounded by her family, Wanda Langford passed from this world to the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on February 3, 2018. Wanda was a strong woman who had fought a five year battle with bile duct cancer. Born to Marion Earl Walker and Maggie Belle Barham Walker on June 9, 1932, in Fort Worth, Texas, Wanda lived the majority of her life in the Authon Community. She attended Garner Elementary and Millsap High School, graduating Valedictorian of the Class of 1950. Two days after graduation, Wanda married her high school sweetheart, James Notie Langford in the chapel of South Main Church of Christ. James and Wanda were happily married for 63 years. They were both musicians and with children, Alice and Robert, they traveled the state to play in fiddle contests. Wanda was always dedicated to her family and community. She played piano for school functions and weddings. She was active in PTA and never failed to help with community events and fundraisers. She was known for the smile on her face and never met a stranger. She was a faithful member of the Authon Church of Christ. Wanda was preceeded in death by her parents Earl and Maggie Belle Walker, her son Robert Langford and her husband James Langford.
Wanda is survived by: Daughter Alice Youngblood of Weatherford; Brother Ronald Walker and wife Karen of Weatherford; Grandchildren: April Williams of Euless, Clay Youngblood and wife Kristi of Weatherford, Crystal Claire and husband Dan of Fort Worth, Tori Rutledge and husband Chris of Benbrook, Cara Tayon and husband Scott of Tennessee, Brandon Langford of Dallas; Great-Grandchildren: Mayme Williams, Jacob Williams, Abbygail Moreland, Riley Youngblood, Lily Youngblood, Toby Youngblood, Rosie Youngblood, Holly Youngblood; Great-great-grandchild: Violet Upton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Wanda to the American Cancer Society, Pythian Home or Authon Church of Christ.
