Obituary for Sammy Wilson Massie

Sammy Wilson Massie, age 76, of Brock, died Monday, July 17, 2017. Born February 2, 1941 in Graford. Mr. Massie owned and operated Sammy’s Nursery for 33 years. He was the driver for the plant truck, a member of the Dennis Baptist Church and Brock and Dennis Volunteer Fire Departments. Sammy was raised on the Brazos River and loved fishing. He attended Brock School and was a Brock Fan. Survivors include wife of 58 years, Loreta: Sons, Sammy Wayne Massie and wife Tina of Marshfield, Missouri, Gregory Keith Massie and wife, Rhonda of Dennis, Bradley Wade Massie and wife Tracy of Brock, Aaron Wilson Massie and wife, Samantha of Brock: Grandchildren, Matt, Jessica, Courtney, Kyle, Kendra, Ethan, Nathaniel, Korey, Bailey, Bethanie, Skyler, Taylor: Great Granchildren, Macie, Kiana, Kyler, Brylee, Karter, Landon, Kezli, Madison, Payton, Kade, Bella, Noah: Great Great Grandchild, Kenlee: numerous Aunts, Cousins and extended family. He was preceded in death by parents, Sam and Laverne Massie and Grandparents Harvey and Retha Jones.

Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, July 20, 2017 in the Dennis Baptist Church with interment in the Greenwood Community Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Wednesday at Galbreaith Pickard Chapel. Galbreaith Pickard in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be sent to St. Jude.
